Forming process of steel elbow and how to prevent aging of steel elbow

Forming process of steel elbow
1. Die forging. For socket welding and threaded tees, crosses, elbows, and other small pipe fittings, the shapes are more complicated and should be manufactured by the die forging process. The die forging blank should be a rolled profile such as a bar, thick-walled pipe, or plate. When steel ingot is used as raw material, the ingot should be pre-rolled into strips or used as die forging blank after forging to eliminate segregation, looseness, and other defects of the ingot. After heating, the blank is placed in the forging die, and the pressure makes the metal flow. Fill the die cavity; a flash will appear after the blank is forged, and the remaining flash material needs to be flushed out to complete all forging work.
2. Free forging. Pipe fittings with special shapes or not suitable for die forging can be manufactured by the free forging process. The general shape of the pipe fittings should be free forged, such as the tee branch pipe should be forged.
3. Cutting processing. For some tubular pipe fittings, such as double socket joints, movable joints, etc., rods or thick-walled pipes can be directly processed. During the processing, the fiber flow direction of the metal material should be roughly parallel to the axial direction of the pipe. For tees, crosses, elbows, and pipe fittings, rods are not allowed to be directly cut and formed.

Methods to prevent steel elbows from aging
There are many types of steel elbows, and there are many use environments and contact materials. The length of the pipeline life mainly depends on its anti-aging ability. Due to the influence of the material, the anti-aging effect of some pipelines may not be obvious. This method can achieve the anti-aging of the pipeline:
1. During the laying process, it is very important to overcome the axial deformation caused by seasonal temperature differences and control thermal expansion.
2. When connecting the hot-melt electric welded pipe to the metal pipe and cement pressure pipe, the bend should be firmly pasted. To avoid changes in axial force due to temperature changes in the material, thereby affecting the sealing performance, the serpentine laying of the hot-melt electric fusion pipe is within the allowable range of the plan to meet the needs of pipeline temperature changes.
3. Blue ribbons can be squeezed with blue or black pipes. The latter usually has better anti-ultraviolet and anti-aging properties. Protective covers are also recommended for public use. Pipes should be kept away from direct sunlight during transportation and storage, and the on-site placement time should be very short.

Therefore, users should also try to prevent pipeline aging when using steel bent pipes, such as avoiding sunlight exposure and wrapping the pipes with anti-corrosion tape to protect the service life of the pipes.
