According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD), Turkey’s crude steel production totaled around 2.7 million tons in July this year, falling by 21% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the period, Turkey’s steel imports dropped by 1.8% year on year to 1.3 million tons, the steel exports also slid by nearly 23% year on year to 1.2 million tons.
In the first seven months of this year, Turkey’s crude steel production amounted to roughly 22 million tons, down by 7% year on year. The import volume of steel during the period was down by 5.4% to 9 million tons, and steel exports dropped by 10% to 9.7 million tons, both on a year-on-year basis.
