Because the 316L thick-walled stainless steel pipe is corrosion-resistant, impact-resistant, and high-temperature resistant, it is often used in medicine, chemical industry, food, light industry, chemical machinery, industrial pipelines, and mechanical parts. Of course, thick-walled pipes are also suitable for the production and manufacturing of exhaust pipes and various basic pipelines. However, the thick-walled steel pipe corrodes after a period of use. So, what should I do if the 316L thick-walled stainless steel pipe is corroded?
We know that when the 316L thick-walled stainless steel pipe is corroded by the thermocouple, the anodic oxidation is destroyed and the negative electrode is maintained. If we try to keep the stainless steel thick-walled pipe as the negative electrode from beginning to end, the steel pipe will not easily corrode. This anti-corrosion method is called pipeline cathodic protection. This is also a way of escorting stroke. It not only uses the movable metal material as a protective film but also destroys the movable metal material and maintains the metal material parts. Further scientific research can also be carried out without destroying the anodic oxidation. Therefore, the cathodic protection method can be divided into the protective film method and the electrical equipment protection method.
With a relatively active alloy as a protective film, insert it into the surface of the protective 316l stainless steel pipe, or connect the protective metal with a wire, so that the protective film and the protective metal become two sides of the galvanic cell reaction. Since the protective film is an active metal, it has an anodic oxidation effect in the battery, is oxidized and damaged by corrosive air, and the protective alloy is the cathode. The original small battery stops or weakens in the cathode work, and then protects the metal parts. When the protective film is about to rust, it can be replaced by another protective film.
Therefore, this anti-corrosion method is a lost car protection method, also known as a cathodic protection method. For example, there are zinc blocks in gas steam boilers, and zinc is often embedded around the propellers of ships. Zinc is more active than iron, so zinc slowly corrodes and protects the furnace and propellers. During the electrolysis process, the electrode connected to the negative pole of the power supply is not easy to be damaged. In this electrode, the electron is not necessary, so the negative wall 316L thick wall stainless steel pipe itself cannot lose electrons and become positive ions.
In other words, the negative electrode is not easy to be damaged. According to this basic principle, we can use external current to connect the stainless steel thick-walled steel pipe with the negative connection of the switching power supply as the negative connection, set the auxiliary power supply and the positive pole of the switching power supply as the anodic oxidation connection, and then maintain the negative mechanical equipment. Anodizing can be some waste water pipes, old train tracks, etc., which slowly corrode under low conditions. This method is similar to the protective film method.
